Who We are

Social Isolation affects people of all backgrounds and classes in a variety of different ways. Regardless of form, isolation has a negative impact on everyone’s quality of life, and is a growing issue that we believe needs to be tackled.

Our Vancouver and Toronto based, not for profit society’s mission is to encourage shared participation in art and culture so as to address social isolation, create stronger communities, and deepen social ties, both locally and Canada wide.

By encouraging community participation in group artistic activities, we encourage the development of artistic skills among those who may not ordinarily participate in, or have access to, the formal art world.

Our mission includes promoting a vibrant, living culture, facilitating cultural exchange, and sharing the stories of marginalized people and outsiders.

Finally, our organization aims to promote and support the work of professional artists, particularly those who practice in, or who developed their skills in, a community setting.
